Beautiful Murano art glass bowl by Archimede Seguso with controlled internal bubbles. Venetian glass is glassware made in Venice, typically on the island of Murano near the city. Traditionally it is made with a soda-lime “metal” and is typically elaborately decorated, with various “hot” glass-forming techniques, as well as gilding, enamel, or engraving.
Archimede Seguso (1909–1999)
Born into one of Murano’s oldest and most respected glassmaking families, Archimede Seguso became one of the island’s most successful and influential artists. Renowned for his innovative filigree and sculptural techniques, his work blends tradition with modern artistry and remains highly prized in collections around the world.
