Each piece begins as a substantial block of crystal glass, meticulously cut, ground and polished to reveal a softly sculpted interior suspended within its clear architectural exterior. The result is an intriguing play of light, transparency and form that changes depending on the viewing angle.
Created by the Rosenthal Creative Center, the Blockglass collection received the prestigious Design Plus Award and was nominated for the 2006 Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany.
