A striking pair of monumental French lead crystal champagne coolers by Art Vannes, dating to the 1960s.
Each piece is beautifully sculpted from exceptionally thick crystal, with dramatic sweeping curves and an organic, fluid form that captures and refracts the light from every angle. The substantial weight and expressive silhouette give the pieces an almost sculptural presence—equally impressive displayed as objets d’art or used as champagne and wine coolers.
Produced by the celebrated Vannes-le-Châtel crystalworks in Lorraine, France, whose designs would later become associated with Cristal de Sèvres, each piece bears the distinctive Art Vannes acid-etched maker’s mark to the base.
