Iván Meade is a multidisciplinary designer and the founder of MEADE DESIGN GROUP and L’EXCUSE, a curated lifestyle collection. With over 25 years of experience in interior, graphic, and industrial design, Iván is internationally recognized for his refined aesthetic and his ability to translate personal narratives into timeless design.

Born in Mexico and based in Victoria BC since 1998, Iván blends a rich cultural heritage with a European design sensibility—elegant, modern, and enduring. His personal philosophy, “Find luxury in what you touch every day,” informs every aspect of his work. Beyond the studio, Iván’s creative ventures include his signature fabric line, couture pillowcases, hand-poured candles, and artisanal chocolates—all offered through L’EXCUSE, a destination for meaningful, collectible design.

As a respected branding expert, Iván has helped designers across North America and Australia define their voice and build impactful identities. His studio remains a sought-after resource for both luxury interiors and creative branding. His work has been featured in HGTV, Style at Home, Better Homes & Gardens, YAM, Spruce, and BC Home, among others.

In 2007, Iván launched LifeMStyle, a blog that quickly gained traction for its insightful 195 interviews with leading voices in the design world, including Kelly Wearstler, Kelly Hoppen, Jean-Louis Deniot, and the late Alberto Pinto, among other icons of international interior design. The top 10 interviews have since been compiled into a beautifully designed e-book, available as a free download.
